FLOOR CARE
Once your floors have been sanded and finished, kindly refrain from using a floor cleaner or placing area rugs on them for a period of 72 hours following the final application of finish.
Dos:
-
Use protective felt or soft pads on the bottom of all furniture and replace them regularly.
-
Place rugs and mats at all exterior entrances to capture abrasives and moisture.
-
Use stands under plants to allow air circulation; even a waterproof plant containers can attract condensation and leave a water stain.
-
Vacuum or dry dust-mop regularly to remove abrasives and dirt.
-
Use a cleaner specifically designed for hardwood floors and mop floors as needed. (We recommend Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner)
-
Wipe up spills immediately to avoid water damage to floors.
-
Try to make it a habit to remove shoes when walking on your floors. The use of high heeled shoes and cleats can dent even the most dense hardwood floors.
-
Re-coat your hardwood floors before you wear any spot through to bare wood.
-
Use a home humidifier to help minimize seasonal gaps/cracks by keeping humidity levels between 35-55% and temperatures between 60-80 degrees.
Don’ts:
-
Do not use oils, polish, or waxes.
-
Do not use abrasive cleaners (citrus & vinegars)
-
Do not steam mop your floors
-
Do not drag any piece of furniture, appliances or heavy items on your floors; always carry it.
